A Thanksgiving Poem

Twas the eve of Thanksgiving

The salesmen at his desk

Trying to earn a living

But what do you suggest?

The offices are empty

The stores are closing down

He wishes sales aplenty

But no deals can be found

Alas, his family’s waiting

For his email and phone to quiet

They know he’s contemplating

Their wants so he can but it

What good is the next deal

If it keeps you from loved ones and turkey

You’ll live to sell tomorrow

More eating and less workey
